JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A priest accused of raping a woman and then physically throwing her out of his Westside apartment was arrested in the case, according to WJXT-TV.

Gebremeskel Yalew, 32, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who told police Yalew is her priest.

The alleged incident took place at the West Creek Apartments on 103rd Street.


Investigators said they arrived at the apartment complex to find the victim screaming for help and covered in dirt.

The woman told police Yalew forcibly had sexual intercourse with her twice and then threw her from his apartment.

Yalew is charged with sexual battery.
