Naxal violence: "129 politicians, 411 officials killed in 3 years"
New Delhi, Sept. 6 (PTI): Naxalites have killed over 120 people's representatives and more than 400 government officials during the last three years.
As many as 129 people's representatives and 411 government officials have been killed in naxal violence between 2004 and 2006, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told Rajya Sabha in a written reply yesterday.
While 45 politicians were killed by naxals in 2004, 64 people's representatives died in naxal violence in 2005, the number falling to 20 in 2006.
As many as 100 government officials were killed in attacks by Naxalite groups in 2004, the number going up to 153 in 2005 and further to 158 in 2006, according to the statistics provided to the House.
Naxalite groups targeted 114 people's representatives in 2004, the number going down to 111 in 2005 and further dipping to 31 in 2006.
A total of 245 government officials were attacked by naxals in 2004, 201 in 2005 and 216 in 2006.

வெடி குண்டுகள் ஆயுதங்களுடன் ஸ்ரீதர் கிருஷ்ணன் ஸ்ரீநிவாஸன் கூட்டாளிகளுடன் கைது
வெடி குண்டுகள் ஆயுதங்களுடன் ஸ்ரீதர் கிருஷ்ணன் ஸ்ரீநிவாஸன் கூட்டாளிகளுடன் கைது செய்யப்பட்டார். இவர்கள் நேஷனல் பொலிட் பரோ ஆப் நகஸலைட் மூவ்மெண்ட் என்ற தீவிரவாத கம்யூனிஸ இயக்கத்தை சார்ந்தவர்கள். பொதுவாக நக்ஸலைட்டுகள் பொதுமக்களை கொன்று அதனை விடுதலை என்று பேசுபவர்கள்.
மனித நேயம் அற்ற இந்த கொள்கைகள் பின்னால் சென்று மூளை சலவையாக்கப்பட்டு அழிவுப்பாதையில் திரும்பிய இவர்கள், மீண்டும் அமைதி மார்க்கமான இந்துமதத்துக்கு திரும்பி வருவார்கள் என்று விரும்புவோம்.
Two held with explosives, booked under Arms Act
Mumbai, Aug. 20 (PTI): Two alleged naxalites, including a senior leader of the ultra-Left movement, were arrested from a north east suburb and arms and ammunitions seized from them, police said today.
Sridhar Krishnan Srinivasan, who is allegedly a member of the national politburo of the naxal movement, and Vernon Gonsalves were arrested by the Anti Terrorism Squad of the police in an operation carried out last night in the suburb of Govandi, Director General of Police P S Pasricha told reporters here.
"We have recovered two pistols, explosives like gelatine sticks, detonators, walkie talkies, 106 CDs with naxal literature, a laptop and a pen drive from them," Pasricha said.
He said data regarding the location of naxal training camps, being run by naxalites and their financial transactions, which ran into lakhs of rupees, were also recovered from the duo.
The literature and data are related to naxal leaders and alleged naxal activist Arun Pereira who had been arrested some months ago near Nagpur, he said.
The duo were produced before a court where they were remanded to police custody till August 22.
Magistrate P P Suroshe, while granting the police custody, also asked the police to get a fresh medical examination done for the duo following their complaint in the court regarding ill-treatment by the police.
The duo were booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act.

தன்னார்வ குழு NGO என்ற பெயரில் பல குழுக்கள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களிடையே வேலை செய்கிறோம் என்ற பெயரில் வெளிநாடுகளிலிருந்து பணம் வாங்கி நக்ஸலைட்டுகளுக்கு ஆயுதம் வாங்கவும், தீவிரவாத செயல்களுக்கு உதவவும் செய்கிறார்கள் என்பது பரவலாக உள்ள குற்றச்சாட்டு. இந்த ஆயுதங்கள் நேரடியாக அப்பாவி பொதுமக்களை கொல்லவே உபயோகப்படுகின்றன.
இதனால், சட்டிஸ்கார்க் மாநிலம் நக்ஸலைட்டுகளுக்கு உதவும் என்.ஜிவோக்களை தடை செய்திருக்கிறது.

The Director General of police says he is considering the move following intelligence reports that point to large scale funding of Maoists by NGOs in Bastar, the worst hit area.

In response NGOs who work in the area say this was the governments way of putting pressure on NGOs to stop them from raising their voices against the government.
In the last couple of years, the government has been sharply criticised for promoting Salwa Judum a local anti-naxal force that has led to bloody clashes and massive migration among tribals.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் தீவிரவாதம் கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டு உள்ளது நக்சலைட்டுகள் குறித்து பொதுமக்கள் அச்சப்பட தேவை இல்லை என்று முன்னாள் போலீஸ் டி.ஜி.பி. தேவாரம் கூறினார்.
வீரவணக்கநாள் நிகழ்ச்சி
வேலூர் மாவட்டம் திருப்பத்தூர் பகுதியில் கடந்த 1980-ம் ஆண்டு நக்சலைட்டுகள் நடமாட்டம் இருந்தது. நக்சலைட்டுகளை ஒடுக்குவதற்காக தனிபோலீஸ் படை அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. அந்த பணியில் ஜோலார்பேட்டை போலீஸ் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் பழனிச்சாமி, ஏட்டுகள் முருகேசன், ஏசுதாஸ் ஆகியோர் ஈடுபட்டு இருந்தனர்.
அப்போது அவர்கள் 3 பேரும் நக்சலைட்டுகள் தாக்குதலில் பலியானார்கள். இவர்களின் நினைவாக திருப்பத்தூர் டவுண் போலீஸ் நிலையத்தில் நினைவு சின்னம் வைக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. ஆண்டுதோறும் அவர்கள் இறந்த தினமான ஆகஸ்ட் 6-ந் தேதியை திருப்பத்தூர் சரகத்திற்கு உட்பட்ட போலீசார் மற்றும் பொது மக்கள் வீர வணக்க நாளாக கடைபிடித்து வருகின்றனர்.
அதன்படி நேற்று திருப்பத்தூர் டவுன் போலீஸ் நிலையத்தில் உள்ள நினைவு சின்னம் முன்பு வீர வணக்க நாள் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.

இதில் முன்னாள் போலீஸ் டி.ஜி.பி., டபிள்ï.ஐ.தேவாரம், வேலூர் சரக டி.ஐ.ஜி., சுந்தரமூர்த்தி, வேலூர் மாவட்ட போலீஸ் சூப்பிரண்டு அறிவுச்செல்வம், கிï பிரிவு போலீஸ் சூப்பிரண்டு அசோக்குமார், டி.கே.ராஜா எம்.எல்.ஏ., பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சி மாவட்ட செயலாளர் ஜி.பொன்னுசாமி, திருப்பத்தூர் நகரசபை தலைவி சொக்கம்மாள் துணைத் தலைவர் சாந்தி மற்றும் அனைத்து கட்சி பிரமுகர்கள் மற்றும் ஏராளமான பொது மக்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு, மலர் வளையம் வைத்து அஞ்சலி செலுத்தினர்.
அப்போது காவலர்கள் வானத்தை நோக்கி சுட்டு வீர வணக்கம் செலுத்தினர். பின்னர் போலீசார் அணிவகுப்பு மரியாதை நடைபெற்றது.
நிகழ்ச்சியில் முன்னாள் போலீஸ் டி.ஜி.பி., டபிள்ï.ஐ.தேவாரம் பேசினார். அப்போது அவர் கூறியதாவது :-
நினைவு சின்னம்
27 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு மக்களுக்காகவும், நாட்டிற்காகவும் சேவை செய்து உயிர் நீத்த காவலர்கள் நினைவாக நாம் ஆண்டுதோறும் இங்கு கூடி வருகிறோம். முதன் முதலில் வீர வணக்க நாள் இங்கு செலுத்திய சமயத்தில் இருந்தவர்கள் இப்போது குறைந்து கொண்டே வருகின்றனர். ஆனால் தற்போது ஏராளமான புதியவர்கள் இங்கு கூடி வந்து உள்ளனர்.
சந்தன கடத்தல் வீரப்பனால் 30-க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் இறந்து உள்ளனர். இதில் 7 போலீசாரும், 5 வனத்துறையினரும் அடங்குவர். ராஜீவ்காந்தி படுகொலையின் போது அவருடன் இறந்த 13 பேரில் 11 பேர் போலீசார். அங்கெல்லாம் போலீசாருக்கு என்று நினைவு சின்னம் அமைக்கப்படவில்லை. திருப்பத்தூரில் மட்டும் தான் நினைவு சின்னம் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வீர வணக்க நாள் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
பொதுமக்கள் ஒத்துழைப்பு
நக்சலைட்டு ஒழிப்பில் போலீசாருடன் பொது மக்கள் இணைந்து செயல்பட்டனர். அதனால் தான், இங்கு போலீசார், பொது மக்கள் என வித்தியாசம் இல்லாமல் ஏராளமானோர் வந்து இருக்கின்றனர்.
பொது மக்கள் ஒத்துழைப்பு இருப்பதால் தான் நக்சலைட்டுகளை ஒழிக்க முடிகிறது. தமிழகத்தில் எந்த அரசும் தீவிரவாதத்திற்கு ஒரு போதும் அனுமதி அளிப்பதில்லை.
கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம்
தீவிரவாதிகள், நக்சலைட்டுகள் தலையீடு, பொதுமக்கள் உதவியுடன் கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டு உள்ளது. நக்சலைட்டுகள் குறித்து பொது மக்கள் இனி பயப்பட தேவை இல்லை.
இவ்வாறு தேவாரம் பேசினார்.

வேற்று மொழி பேசும் தொழிலாளர்களை கொன்று வரும் உல்பா கம்யூனிஸ்டு அமைப்பும், நக்ஸைலைட்டுகள் மாவோயிஸ்டுகள் என்ற பெயரில் மக்களை கொன்றுவரும் கம்யூனிஸ பயங்கரவாதிகளும் கூட்டு வைத்திருக்கின்றனர் என்பது வெளிவந்திருக்கிறது.
உல்பா கம்யூனிஸ்டுகள் பிகாரைச் சேர்ந்த தொழிலாளர்களை அஸாமில் கொன்றுவருவது தெரிந்ததே.

The deadly alliance between the two most dreaded outfits -- the ULFA and the Maoist -- has set the alarm bells ringing for the Bihar police as intelligence reports indicate that ULFA might slowly seep in to Bihar. It's learnt that the highly-organised and hi-tech group, Maoists, have joined hands with the bane of the North-East, the UlFA.
The deadly alliance poses a huge threat to the state of Bihar as the chances of ULFA infiltrating into the state of Bihar is not remote. ULFA has already gained access to one territory and can seep into another territory easily to set naxal breeding grounds.
Shockingly, plans of such a dangerous alliance was admitted by one of Bihar's top cop. Commenting on the alliance, Gupteshwar Pandey, DIG, Tirhut range said:"A meeting of Maoists took place somewhere in the border area of India and Nepal in which few ULFA activists also participated. This is a matter of grave concern for us and we are trying to gather more information."
Sources have given more details about the cladestine meeting, which was attended by the top CPI leaders (Maoists), ULFA activists, Communist Party of Nepal and Ultras. Sources claimed that a series of meetings were held in the West Champaran district in Bihar.
This reportedly has set the authorities on tenterhooks as ULFA is known to have targeted Biharis in Assam leading to an almost exodus of the migrants from the state. And now, with the ULFA gaining access to one naxal territory, it could possibly mean their infiltration into other naxal breeding grounds.

Shockingly, plans of such a dangerous alliance was admitted by one of Bihar's top cop. Commenting on the alliance, Gupteshwar Pandey, DIG, Tirhut range said:"A meeting of Maoists took place somewhere in the border area of India and Nepal in which few ULFA activists also participated. This is a matter of grave concern for us and we are trying to gather more information."
Sources have given more details about the cladestine meeting, which was attended by the top CPI leaders (Maoists), ULFA activists, Communist Party of Nepal and Ultras. Sources claimed that a series of meetings were held in the West Champaran district in Bihar.
This reportedly has set the authorities on tenterhooks as ULFA is known to have targeted Biharis in Assam leading to an almost exodus of the migrants from the state. And now, with the ULFA gaining access to one naxal territory, it could possibly mean their infiltration into other naxal breeding grounds.

MALKANGIRI (Orissa): Naxals targeted a BSNL communication tower at Balimela in Orissa's Malkangiri district early on Tuesday morning after their attempt to blow up the major hydel project there was foiled by the police.
The superintendent of police, S K Gojbhaye, said that the ultras had planned to trigger explosions at the 360 MW Balimela hydel power plant, one of the major hydel projects in Orissa, but could not succeed because of heavy police deployment at Balimela, 40 km from Malkangiri.
Their frustration might have led them to target the BSNL tower, he said.
The police said the ultras had fixed two landmines below the tower one of which exploded partially damaging the installation. The other landmine, however, did not explode.
This is the third time that the Naxals targeted BSNL communication towers in the district this month having earlier tried to blow up such installations at Kalimela and MV-79 village.

பெரியகுளம்: பெரியகுளம் அருகே வனப்பகுதியில் நாட்டு வெடிகுண்டுகள், துப்பாக்கிகளுடன் பதுங்கியிருந்த 3 வாலிபர்களை போலீஸார் கைது செய்தனர். நக்சலைட் மற்றும் தீவிரவாத அமைப்புகளுடன் இணைந்து அவர்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டில் பெரும் நாச வேலையில் ஈடுபடத் திட்டமிட்டிருந்தது விசாரணையில் தெரிய வந்துள்ளது.
பெரியகுளம் அருகே இ.புதுக்கோட்டை கரட்டு என்ற இடத்தில் வனப் பகுதியில் சிலர் தங்கியிருப்பதாக போலீஸாரிடம் விறகு பொறுக்கச் சென்றவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். அவர்களின் நடவடிக்கை சந்தேகத்திற்கு இடமாக இருப்பதாகவும் கூறினர்.
இதையடுத்து போலீஸார் துரிதமாக நடவடிக்கையில் இறங்கினர். நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட போலீஸார் துப்பாக்கி சகிதம் அந்தப் பகுதியை முற்றுகையிட்டனர். பொதுமக்களும் திரண்டு வந்தனர்.
போலீஸாரையும், பொதுமக்களையும் பார்த்த அந்த நபர்கள் அங்கிருந்து ஓட முயன்றனர். ஆனால் போலீஸாரும், பொதுமக்களும் சுற்றி வளைத்ததில் 3 இளைஞர்கள் சிக்கினர். 6 பேர் தப்பி விட்டனர்.
சிக்கியவர்கள் தங்கியிருந்த இடத்தைப் பார்த்தபோது அங்கு சமையல் பாத்திரங்கள், ஜமுக்காளம் போன்றவை இருந்தன. அவர்களிடம் ஏராளமான துப்பாக்கிகளும் இருந்தன. அவற்றைப் போலீஸார் பறிமுதல் செய்தனர்.
இதுதவிர தரைக்குள் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான டெட்டனேட்டர்கள், கையெறி குண்டுகள், நாட்டு வெடிகுண்டுகளையும் அவர்கள் பதுக்கி வைத்திருந்தனர். அவையும் பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டது.
பிடிபட்டவர்களில் ஒருவர் பெயர் வேல்முருகன். இவர் இ.புதுக்கோட்டையைச் சேர்ந்தவர், மதுரை சட்டக் கல்லூரியில் படித்து வருகிறார். இன்னொருவர் பழனிவேல். இவர் சேலம் மாவட்டம் சின்னூரைச் சேர்ந்தவர். மூன்றாவது நபர் முத்துச் செல்வம். இவர் மதுரை, சமயநல்லூரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்.
இவர்களிடம் தொடர்ந்து விசாரணை செய்தபோது, தர்மபுரியில் செயல்படும் மக்கள் போர் படை இயக்கத்தை சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்பது தெரியவந்தது. இவர்கள் ஏற்கனவே கொடைக்கானல் பகுதியில் ஒரு மாதமாக ஆயத பயிற்சி எடுத்துள்ளனர். இதையடுத்து போலீஸ் படை அவருடன் கொடைக்கானல் விரைந்தது.
அங்கு பண்ணைக்காடு கஸ்தூரிபாய்புரத்தில் உள்ள துரைராஜ் என்பவருக்குச் சொந்தமான வீடு ஒன்றில் வாடகைக்கு இருந்து வரும் சுரேஷ் மற்றும் சேகர் என்பவரைப் பிடிக்க போலீஸார் சென்றனர். ஆனால் அவர்கள் இருவரும் சிக்கவில்லை.
அவர்கள் தங்கியிருந்த வீட்டை சோதனையிட்டபோது, நக்சலைட் அமைப்பின் துண்டுப் பிரசுரங்களும், லெனின் குறித்த புத்தகமும் கிடைத்தன. இவர்கள் இருவரும்தான் நக்சலைட் அமைப்புக்கு ஆள் சேர்த்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று போலீஸார் சந்தேகிக்கின்றனர்.
மக்கள் விடுதலை இயக்கத்தில் ஏராளமான மாணவர்கள் இருப்பதாக போலீஸார் சந்தேகிக்கின்றனர்.

பெரியகுளம் தோட்டக் கலைக் கல்லூரிக்கு அருகில்தான் இந்த 3 பேரும் பிடிபட்ட வனப்பகுதி உள்ளது. நேற்று இலங்கை விவசாய அமைச்சர் பெர்னாண்டோ இந்தக் கல்லூரிக்கு வந்தார். எனவே இவர்கள் இலங்கை அமைச்சரைக் கொல்லும் திட்டத்துடன் அங்கு பதுங்கியிருந்தார்களா என்பது குறித்தும் போலீஸார் தீவிரமாக விசாரித்து வருகின்றனர்.

பிடிபட்ட 3 பேரிடமும் போலீஸார் தீவிர விசாரணை நடத்தியதில் பல திடுக்கிடும் தகவல்கள் கிடைத்தன. இவர்கள் நக்சலைட் கும்பலுடன் இணைந்து தமிழகத்தில் நாசவேலைகளை செய்ய திட்டம் தீட்டியிருப்பது தெரிய வந்தது.
இந்தக் கும்பலுக்கும், ஆந்திர நக்சலைட்டுகளுக்கும் ரகசிய தொடர்பும் உள்ளது. அங்கிருந்து பணம் மற்றும் ஆயுதங்களும் அனுப்பப்பட்டுள்ளன.
இதுதவிர வேறு சில தீவிரவாத அமைப்புடனும் இந்தக் கும்பலுக்குத் தொடர்பு இருப்பதும் தெரிய வந்துள்ளது. இந்த கும்பலுக்கு தலைவனாக சென்னையை சேர்ந்த ராஜா என்பவர் செயல்பட்டுள்ளார். போலீஸார் மலையை சுற்றி வளைத்தபோது இவர் தப்பி விட்டார்.
தப்பிச் சென்ற ராஜா உள்ளிட்ட 6 பேரும் அவர்கள் மதுரை அல்லது சின்னமனூரில் பதுங்கியிருக்க கூடும் என போலீஸார் கருதுகின்றனர். கியூ பிரிவு போலீஸார் அவர்களை பிடிக்க தீவிர தேடுதல் வேட்டையை தொடங்கியுள்ளனர். உளவுத்துறை போலீஸாரும் கண்காணித்து வருகின்றனர்.
நக்சலைட் கும்பல், தமிழ்நாட்டில் பல்வேறு நாசவேலை செய்ய திட்டமிட்டிருப்பது தெரிய வந்திருப்பதால் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் போலீஸார் உஷார் படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

Raipur, June 24: Maoists have abducted 10 tribals belonging to Chhattisgarh's civil militia movement near the Andhra Pradesh border. Hundreds of police personnel have fanned out across the forests in the border area to trace the hostages, police said.
The 10 cadres of the civil militia movement Salwa Judum were kidnapped Saturday by Maoists in Andhra Pradesh's Chintoor region, around 10 km away from the state's border, while they were returning to Chhattisgarh after attending a wedding.
The abducted tribals, including four women, belong to a relief camp called Mangaigura in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Dantewada district. 'Dozens of search teams are combing the forest hideouts of Maoists near the Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border to trace the abducted Salwa Judum members,' R.K. Vij, inspector general of Bastar range, said.
He added that Chhattisgarh police were in touch with Andhra Pradesh police authorities to secure the safe release of the tribals. About 50,000 people, mostly tribals, have settled in 22 state-run relief camps in Chhattisgarh's southern insurgency hit areas due to threats from Maoists. The anti-Maoist Salwa Judum (Campaign for peace) movement was started by tribals in June 2005 and was later supported by the state government.
According to police estimates, around 5,000 hardcore Maoists armed with AK-47 rifles and landmines, backed by nearly 20,000 cadres, are active in Chhattisgarh, mainly in the southern districts of Bastar, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Kanker and Dantewada districts.

The abducted tribals, including four women, belong to a relief camp called Mangaigura in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Dantewada district. 'Dozens of search teams are combing the forest hideouts of Maoists near the Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border to trace the abducted Salwa Judum members,' R.K. Vij, inspector general of Bastar range, said.
He added that Chhattisgarh police were in touch with Andhra Pradesh police authorities to secure the safe release of the tribals. About 50,000 people, mostly tribals, have settled in 22 state-run relief camps in Chhattisgarh's southern insurgency hit areas due to threats from Maoists. The anti-Maoist Salwa Judum (Campaign for peace) movement was started by tribals in June 2005 and was later supported by the state government.
According to police estimates, around 5,000 hardcore Maoists armed with AK-47 rifles and landmines, backed by nearly 20,000 cadres, are active in Chhattisgarh, mainly in the southern districts of Bastar, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Kanker and Dantewada districts.
