A children's sing-along DVD for would-be suicide bombers is being investigated by police after being found on sale in one of Britain's terrorist hotbeds.

The disturbing disc of music videos - part of an Egyptian-made series - shows a young girl singing about following in the footsteps of her suicide bomber mother.

A group of self-proclaimed orphans also turn against the West over the plight of the Palestinian people.

Disturbing: A child holds a stick of dynamite in the sing-along DVD for would-be suicide bombers

The shocking DVD was purchased in Bradford, West Yorks, and full details of the Leeds-based UK distributors are contained on the back of the cover.

The West Yorkshire Police specialist counter terrorism unit are investigating the contents - which contain three tracks sung by children in Arabic with English subtitles.

The first song is about two children who lose their mother when she becomes a suicide bomber.

The song is believed to be a reference to Reem al-Reyashi, a 22-year-old Palestinian mother-of-two who blew herself up on January 14, 2004, at a crossing, in the Gaza Strip, killing four Israelis.

The video begins with an Arab woman playing with her two children, then leaving her home with dynamite tucked in her dress, blowing herself up after being challenged by uniformed soldiers, and her children and husband finding out about her death on TV.

Appealing to children: The cartoon image appears at the beginning of the DVD

After finding out about the suicide on television, her small daughter finds a stick of dynamite in her mother's wardrobe and turns to the camera with the subtitles: "My love will not be by words. I will follow my mother's steps."

Philip Davies, MP for Shipley, West Yorks, said: "It's outrageous that this kind of material is so readily available in parts of West Yorkshire and it beggars belief that somebody is prepared to proudly proclaim that they distribute this material.

"My worry is how many people have had access to this kind of material and how many children may have already been influenced by it."

The MP contacted police after being passed the DVD by a concerned resident. He was told that the disc had been sold at a mosque in the city.

He said: "I thought it was sick and totally and utterly unacceptable.

"It seems to be directed at children and I find it quite disturbing."

He added: "It strikes me as being incitement to terrorism. I hope that the people that distribute the material will be arrested and charged."

Seemingly innocent: But the child is being groomed to kill

Mr Davies said he would be writing to the Home Secretary asking what support the Government was giving to the police to locate and eliminate this kind of material.

The head of West Yorkshire's counter terrorism unit, Det Chief Supt John Parkinson, said: "The DVD has been initially reviewed and officers are carrying out further inquiries regarding its content to establish whether or not any offences have been committed."

Yorkshire Muslim peer and Shadow Communities Secretary Sayeeda Warsi said the authorities should not be afraid to come down with the full force of the law on extremists.

"I find it deeply disturbing if this kind of material is available and aimed at children so young," she said.

"As well as winning over the hearts and minds of our own communities in order to deal with perverted terrorist organisations, we should always stamp down on anything that is nothing short of criminal, using the full force of the law."

Millions 'forced into slavery'

Children are victims of slave traffickers

The number of people forced into slavery around the world has risen to 27 million, according to a report published by an international human rights group.
The study - released to coincide with a special UN session on slavery - says millions of girls working as domestic servants are forced into sexual slavery.

The trafficking of child camel jockeys to the United Arab Emirates, bonded labour in Pakistan and forced labour in Sudan are also highlighted.

Slavery is fuelled by "poverty, vulnerability and lack of political will", Anti-Slavery International says.

Forced labour

Last week, the US endorsed a report drawn up by an international group of "eminent persons" which concluded that slavery existed in Sudan.

The report recommended that the Sudanese President, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, take the lead by launching an anti-slavery campaign and calling for the release of all slaves.

The Sudanese Government comes in for criticism from Anti-Slavery International, which accuses it of "failing to take adequate steps to end raiding and slavery".

Between 5,000 and 14,000 people are said by the group to have been abducted into forced labour in Sudan since 1983.

There are also problems of forced labour in Mauritania where, the London-based rights group says, little has been done to secure the release of slaves or punish those who use them despite the abolition of slavery in 1981.

In Brazil, the report says, more than 1,000 people were rescued from forced labour last year, but many more remain enslaved on Amazonian estates.

The report says that in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh province, many women, children and men are forced to accept landlords' cash advances and work all day long for no wages.

Sex work

Many of those who are forcibly employed across the world are children.

Anti-slavery activists say millions of girls working as domestic servants are denied freedom and education and are vulnerable to abuse. Many are forced into sex work.

Boys are also victims. The report estimates that every year hundreds of boys, aged between four and 10, are trafficked from South Asia to the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf states to race camels, a dangerous sport.

US finds neglected Iraqi orphans

The orphans were found by chance by US soldiers on patrol

Iraqi orphans
Two dozen boys have been found starved and neglected at a government-run orphanage for special needs children in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The children were discovered last week by a US military advisory team that was out on patrol with Iraqi soldiers.

The emaciated boys, some near death, were left naked and covered in their own excrement on concrete floors, images broadcast by CBS News showed.

The US soldiers found fully stacked kitchen shelves and new clothes nearby.

The boys had been kept in the shocking conditions for more than a month despite the orphanage having been staffed, the troops said.

Staff unconcerned

The 24 orphans were first spotted during a daytime patrol in central Baghdad by the US 82nd Airborne Division.

"They saw multiple bodies laying on the floor of the facility," Staff Sgt Mitchell Gibson told CBS News.

The kids were tied up, naked, covered in their own waste, faeces

Lt Stephen Duperre

"They thought they were all dead, so they threw a basketball [to] try and get some attention," he added.

"And actually one of the kids lifted up their head, tilted it over and just looked and then went back down."

Another member of the patrol, Lt Stephen Duperre, said he had found the discovery devastating.

"The kids were tied up, naked, covered in their own waste, faeces"

Lt Duperre said the soldiers found three members of staff cooking for themselves when they entered the orphanage.

Inside was a kitchen full of food and a storeroom stocked with piles of brand-new clothing.

The soldiers believed it was being sold to local markets instead of giving it to the disabled children.

The orphanage's caretaker, who had a well-kept office, and two women employees have since disappeared.

However, two security guards have been arrested on the orders of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki.

The boys have since been transferred to another orphanage in the city and have begun to recover.
