CHENNAI: Villagers, including women from Kancheepuram met the DGP Letika Saran, covering their mouth and nose with cloth, to submit a petition against those foisting cases against them. They alleged that Christian priests were inducing quarrels between two groups of people in Thachur village in Kancheepuram.

They also suspected a couple of people in the murder of a handicapped man Rajendran, who's body was fished out from a nearby lake a week ago. The villagers demanded that the DGP re-open the case of Rajendran's death for investigation.

The petition has been forwarded to Kancheepuram district police superintendent for further inquiry
