Shree Vishnu Temple is one of the most renowned Hindu Temples in Bangkok. It was built in 1920 by Hindu Dharma Sabha which was formed by the Hindus predominantly hailing from Uttar Pradesh.
Under the auspices of the center, the Nav Yuwak Sangh started a Library and a Hindi Pathshala which provided the much needed information and knowledge to people seeking connection with their roots and trying to understand their culture.
As the number of disciples grew, the Sabha constructed more temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman and Durga ji. The Sabha also felt urgent need of a cremation ground and allotted its own land for the same .The cremation ground is now used for different communities for the religious sites of the society.
The new generation of Hindus devotees renovated the principle temple of lord Vishnu in the year 2000 and now a magnificent new Temple of Lord Vishnu stands tall as a result of the relentless efforts of the people.
It was indeed a happy and proud occasion when Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Princess Sirinthorn laid the first foundation stone of the new Shree Vishnu Temple.
Over the years, The Hindu Dharma Sabha and Shree Vishnu Temple has been a very powerful and effective centre of linking the two societies viz. Sanathan Hindu community and the Buddhist society in Thailand and enthusing common cultural and religious brotherhood.
