Hindus granted permission for templeJun 6 2007
THRILLED Hindus cheered with joy when councillors gave the green-light for their much-needed temple.
The Town Hall was packed with dozens of hopeful Hindus who were eager-ly awaiting the go-ahead from the council for their Ifield Avenue development.
Ashwin Soni, the trustee for the Gurjar Hindu Union in Crawley, said: "There is absolute euphoria among
the Hindu community. We are thrilled, the temple will be fantastic. We are committed to being an extreme-ly good neighbour."
Councillors gave the thumbs up to the Sanatan Mandir - and a joint community centre - on the Apple Tree Farm site at a development control committee meeting on Monday night.
