பங்களாதேஷ் தேசிய கட்சி தலைவர்களே இஸ்லாமிய தீவிரவாதிகளுக்கு அடைக்கலம் கொடுத்து பாதுகாத்தார்கள் - சாட்சிகள்

பேகம் கலிதா ஜியா (முன்னாள் பங்களாதேஷ் பிரதமர்) நடத்தி வந்த பிஎன்பி என்ற பங்களாதேஷ் தேசிய கட்சி தலைவர்களே பங்களாதேஷில் இஸ்லாமிய தீவிரவாதத்தை வளர்த்தார்கள். இஸ்லாமிய தீவிரவாதிகளுக்கு அடைக்கலம் கொடுத்து பாதுகாத்தார்கள் என்று பலர் பங்களாதேஷ் கோர்ட்டில் சாட்சி சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்கள்

சென்ற ஆட்சியில் பங்களாபாய் என்பவரின் தலைமையில் இஸ்லாமிய தீவிரவாதிகள் பொதுமக்களையும், சிறுபான்மையினரையும் தீவிரமாக தாக்கிவந்தார்கள். இந்துக்களை பங்கலாதேஷிலிருந்து விரட்டவேண்டும் என்று அவர்களது வாழ்விடங்களை தாக்கி அழித்தார்கள்.

இந்த் ஆட்சி கவிழ்க்கப்பட்டு, ராணுவ ஆட்சி வந்ததும், சென்ற மாதம் இந்த பயங்கரவாதிகள் பிடிக்கப்பட்டு அவர்களுக்கு மரண தண்டனை நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.

Witnesses say BNP bigwigs abetted militants

A Rajshahi court yesterday recorded depositions of two witnesses in the case against BNP leaders Aminul Haq, Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu and Nadim Mostafa for aiding the JMB militants.

The witnesses -- Ayub Ali Pramanik, a victim of brutalities by JMB militants at Bagmara, and Abbas Ali -- told the court that militants including Bangla Bhai mentioned the BNP lawmakers as their patrons during their operations.


They claimed that they had seen Bangla Bhai, Jalil Amin and Murshid having talks and receiving directions from the BNP bigwigs frequently over cellphone while torturing Ayub.

Witnesses name ex-state minister Alamgir Kabir

Alamgir Kabir, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader and former state minister for housing and public works, was named one of the patrons of militants by six witnesses of three cases in connection with atrocities by the JMB militants.

The witnesses of the three cases made the accusation on Sunday in separate judicial statements before a court in Naogaon.

In the case filed by torture victim Golam Mostafa Chowdhury of Atrai upazila, statements of three witnesses -- Swapna Choudhury, Abdul Hakim and Abdul Matin Mondol -- were recorded under Section 164 before the court of first class Magistrate Shafikul Islam in Naogaon.


In the second case filed by victim Abdul Bari of Atrai, two witnesses recorded their statements with the same court. They are Jamsed Choukidar and Sujan.

Shamsur Rahman recorded his statement in the third case filed by another torture victim Amin Uddin Sardar of the same upazila.


The witnesses also named former post and telecommunications minister Barrister Aminul Haque, former deputy minister for land Ruhul Kuddus Talukhdar Dulu, and former lawmaker Nadim Mostafa as patrons of the militants, said a senior police official quoting the statements.


Kabir was accused in the statements for masterminding various criminal activities by militants of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh including torture, extortion, collecting ransom and damaging properties, added the police official.


Police sources said, the three cases were filed with a court on December 31, 2006 and the court asked Atrai Police Station to conduct investigation. The investigation into the cases however was stalled at that time due to unavailability of witnesses.
