சோனியா காந்தி ராமேஷ்வரம் வரும்போது ராமர் சேதுவை இடிப்பதற்குமுனையும் மத்திய அரசாங்கத்தை எதிர்த்து கருப்புக்கொடி காட்டப்படும் என்று இந்து மக்கள் கட்சி தலைவர் அர்ஜூன் சம்பத் தெரிவித்தார்.

Hindu outfit to hold black flag demo during Sonia's visit

Chennai, Aug. 9 (PTI): Hindu Makkal Katchi will hold black flag demonstrations during Congress president Sonia Gandhi's visit to Rameswaram on August 12 to register their protest against the "demolition" of Ramar Sethu by the Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project.

Party president Arjun Sampath told reporters that the UPA Government was "continuing" with the demolition of Ramar Sethu despite protests from Hindu outfits.

He also alleged that Gandhi's visit would hinder the movement of devotees to Rameswaram as part of the `Aadi Amavasai' celebrations on August 12.

Hindu outfits also have decided not to allow the shooting of a Tamil film `Samiyar' starring actor Satyaraj, as the film was intended to "degrade Hindu spiritual leaders", he said.

Alleging that parties in Kerala were giving "too much" importance to PDP leader Abdul Naser Madhani, who was relieved of Coimbatore serial bomb blast cases, he asked Tamil Nadu Government to appeal against the court decision.
