The chances of Left pulling support from the government have decreased. The indicator lies in CPM general secretary Prakash Karat's words.

In an ongoing metaphor of marriage, he said: ''The honeymoon may be over but the marriage can continue for some time.'' He said that while going in for the CPM politburo meeting.

It's the party's highest decision making body which over next two days will work out how far they can push the envelope when it comes to the nuclear deal. CPI's national secretariat too is discussing the same issue.

Meanwhile, the Speaker has allowed a discussion of the nuclear deal without a vote on Monday.

And of course, the talk of the nuclear deal continued in Parliament on Friday. Leader of Opposition L K Advani told the Speaker that contrary to popular perception, he didn't want the government to fall.

The senior BJP leader instead said he was happier to see this government continue.
