ஷியா பிரிவைச் சார்ந்தவர்கள் ஈராகில் பெரும்பான்மையாக இருப்பதால், தேர்தலில் அவர்களது பிரிவு பெரும்பான்மை பெற்று ஆட்சியில் இருப்பதை கண்டு பொறுக்காத சுன்னி பிரிவினர் தொடர்ந்து ஈராக்கிய போலீஸாரை தாக்கி வருகின்றனர்.
பாக்தாதில் சனிக்கிழமை நடந்த தற்கொலை தாக்குதலில் 12க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஈராகிய போலீஸார் கொல்லப்பட்டனர்.
தற்போது டிகிரிட் நகரத்தில் நடந்த தாக்குதலில் 7 போலீஸார் கொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

A suicide truck bomb has killed seven and wounded 35 at a police station east of Tikrit - the second such attack in Iraq two days.

The attack follows a similar blast in the capital Baghdad on Saturday which claimed the lives of a dozen Iraqi soldiers, leaving a further 30 others wounded.

The death toll is likely to rise as the search for survivors continues.

Attacks in provinces outside Baghdad have been on the rise since a US-led security crackdown in Baghdad began forcing insurgents out of the capital into surrounding towns and cities.

The security push in Baghdad and other areas has been an attempt to give the Shi'ite led government time to reach national reconciliation targets set by the US to avoid the country descending into an all-out sectarian conflict.
