Seven people were killed Wednesday when gunmen raided the offices of a Christian welfare organization in Karachi. One person was critically wounded.
Police say all of the dead were Pakistani Christians. The two gunmen escaped.
The shooting took place at the office of the Institute for Peace and Justice. It's a Pakistani Christian charity working with municipal and textile workers in the city.

Karachi police say the gunmen tied the workers to their chairs and shot them in the head at close range.
Christian groups in Pakistan are commonly targeted by extremist organizations. The attacks have become more frequent since Pakistan joined on the so-called war on terrorism and began to crack down on Muslim groups. In the last several months, 30 people have died in violent attacks.
In recent days, police in Karachi have arrested 23 members of Harakat ul-Mujahedeen Al-Almi, which is believed to be behind many of the assaults.
