ஒரிஸ்ஸாவில் பெண்கள் பள்ளிக்கூடத்தின் மீது பயங்கர தாக்குதல் தொடுக்கப்பட்டதில் 5 பேர் பலியானார்கள். இந்த தாக்குதலை மாவோயிஸ்டுகள் செய்ததாக போலீஸ் கூறுகிறது.

இங்கு தாக்கியவர்கள் வெடிகுண்டுகளை வீசியும், துப்பாக்கி சூடும் நிகழ்த்தி இந்த படுகொலைகளை செய்தார்கள்.

80 வயதான ஸ்வாமி லஷ்மாணந்தா என்ற துறவி கொல்லப்பட்டார்.

கிறிஸ்துவ மிஷனரி பிரச்சாரத்துக்கு எதிராக இந்த துறவி பிரச்சாரம் செய்துவந்தார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

வெகுகாலமாகவே கிறிஸ்துவ மிஷனரிகளும், இந்த கம்யூனிஸ பயங்கரவாதிகளும் கூட்டாக இந்துக்கள் மீது தாக்குதல் தொடுத்து வருகிறார்கள் என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.



5 killed in Maoists attack on Orissa girls school

There's has been violence in the communally sensitive Kandhmal district of Orissa again. Five people, including a VHP leader, were killed late on Saturday night when suspected Maoists attacked a Hindu ashram school for girls in Tumudi Bandh.

The attackers hurled bombs and sprayed bullets during the attack which lasted barely 15 minutes. Eighty-year-old VHP leader Swami Laxmananand Saraswati had been spearheading an anti-Christian campaign in Orissa for the last 35 years.

The police suspect the hand of Maoists, who not only have a strong presence in the area but are also opposed to the VHP. There were reports of road blockades by the VHP and ABVP in several parts of Orissa last night. Section 144 has been imposed across the district.

The incident has sparked tension across the district which witnessed large-scale communal violence in December 2007 that left hundreds of churches as well as homes belonging to both Christians and Hindus gutted or destroyed. The situation was slowly returning to normalcy when this happened.

While several Christian bodies in Orissa have condemned the attack ,Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made a late night appeal to all to maintain peace and harmony and promised exemplary punishment to those responsible for the Kandhmal mayhem. Although 6 companies of the CRPF have been deployed in the district since January, the state home secretary T K Mishra has requested the Union Home Ministry to send 2 battalions of the CRPF to the troubled area.
