பயங்கரவாதம் இஸ்லாம் அல்ல என்று தேவபந்த் மதரஸா கூட்டம் முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
ஜெய்ஷ் ஈ முகம்மது, தாலிபான், சிமி, ஹூஜி ஆகிய பல்வேறு இஸ்லாமிய அமைப்புகள் பயங்கரவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றன.

இந்த காரியங்களுக்கு பத்வா விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நடாத்துல் உலீமா போன்ற 4000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மதரஸாக்களின் பிரதிநிதிகள் பங்கு பெற்று, பயங்கரவாதம் இஸ்லாம் அல்ல, பயங்கரவாதத்தில் ஈடுபடுபவர்களை முஸ்லீம்கள் அல்ல என்று பத்வா விதித்துள்ளனர்.

சல்மான் ருஷ்டிக்கு பத்வா விதித்து அவரை கொல்லவேண்டும் என்று சொன்னது போல, பயங்கரவாதத்தில் ஈடுபடும் முஸ்லீம்களை மற்ற முஸ்லீம்கள் கொல்லவேண்டும் என்று பொருளா?

DARUL ULOOM(Deoband): With its madrassas facing the heat for being the fount of inspiration for groups like Taliban and anti-India tanzims like Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Islamic seminary of Darul Uloom on Monday labelled violence and terrorism as "anti-Islam and anti-national".

At a conference here at its headquarters, attended by some 4,000 delegates from madrassas and representatives of other Islamic schools like Nadwatul Ulema and Sufi orders like Chishtis of Ajmer Sharif, senior dons of the renowned Deoband seminary debated terrorism and the justification of violence by jihadi groups on the grounds of "divine" sanction.

The subject was tricky for the seminary as Deobandi thought is under scrutiny abroad - given the role of Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan - and also in India where its followers - grouped under Jaish, HUJI or SIMI - have been found to be engaged in terrorism.

With increasing incidents of local Muslim involvement, Darul Uloom's initiative is significant as it seeks to condemn violence of all shades.

The conference reflected the apparent turmoil in the community with a sea of white caps and red-and-black patterned scarves supporting the declaration that "Islam sternly condemns all kinds of oppression, violence and terrorism". The resolution also stated that Islam has regarded "mischief, rioting and murder as among the severest of sins and crimes".

To be sure, speakers led by the rector, Maulana Marghoobur Rehman, noted the references to tracts which hold that prohibition against violence may not apply to situations where the community was being harmed. These exceptions have been exploited by the terrorist groups and their mentors.
