இஸ்லாமிய பயங்கரவாதிகளால் கொல்லப்பட்ட கோவை தமிழர்களுக்கு பாஜக அஞ்சலி

கோயம்புத்தூரில் இஸ்லாமிய பயங்கரவாதத்தால் 1998 இல் ஏராளமான தமிழர்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டனர்.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசு அந்தமக்களுக்கு யாரும் அஞ்சலி செலுத்தக்கூடாது என்று தடையுத்தரவு பிறப்பித்திருந்தது.

இருந்தும் தடையை மீறி, அவ்வாறு இஸ்லாமிய பயங்கரவாதத்தால் கொல்லப்பட்ட கோவை தமிழர்களுக்கு அஞ்சலி நிகழ்ச்சியை பாஜக நடத்தியது.


இந்து மக்கள் கட்சி (அர்ஜுன் சம்பத்) பெப்ருவரி 14இல் கோவில்களில் பிரார்த்தனையும் அஞ்சலியும் நடத்தியது.


Coimbatore: BJP hold function despite ban

Coimbatore (PTI): With police denying permission to BJP for organising a function on Feb 14 to pay homage to those who were killed in the 1998 serial blasts here, the party has decided to defy the ban and go ahead with the programme as scheduled.

The party had declared and appealed to the public and various religious heads to attend the function at R S Puram on that day, to pay homage to the departed souls. However, police, citing "various reasons", has denied permission for the function, BJP National Council member and State party observer, S R Seghar, told PTI on Tuesday.

When police can allow people to pay homage to the students who had died in Kumbakonam fire tragedy, those burnt alive in a bus in Dharmapuri and also the three elephants crushed by a moving train near Coimbatore, why not to the 58 innocent people, who were victims of the 'terrorist attack' during the visit of BJP leader, L K Advani, on Feb 14, Seghar asked.

The party will observe the day as 'anti-terrorism day' and would pay homage to the departed souls at R S Puram, where three blasts out of the total 15 occured, even if the workers had to court arrests, he said.

Meanwhile, another Hindu outfit, Hindu Makkal Katchi (Tamizhakam) has decided to hold a special prayer and light lamps in Koniamman temple here on Feb 14.

The HMK workers would take an 'anti-terrorism' pledge on that day, HMK president, Arjun Sampath said in a release.
