அந்த காலத்தில் வலிப்பு நோய் சாத்தானால் வருகிறது என்று கருதினார்கள். சாத்தான் (அல்லது பேய்) ஓட்டினால், வலிப்பு நோய் போய்விடும் என்று நம்பினார்கள்.
அப்பாவிகளை ஏமாற்ற இப்படி இயேசு என்ற யூத தெய்வம் பேயோட்டியதாக கதை எழுதியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
அதற்காகத்தான், இப்போது வாடிகன் என்ற இயேசு என்ற யூத தெய்வத்தை கும்பிடும் கூட்டம், பேயோட்ட பல பாதிரிகளுக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்வதாகவும் தெரிகிறது.
ஒரு செய்தி. வலிப்பு நோய் பேயாலோ சாத்தானாலோ வருவதல்ல.
பாவம் இயேசு என்ற யூத தெய்வத்தை நம்பும் அப்பாவி தமிழர்கள்.
17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. (17:15-18) "He is lunatick."
Jesus cures an epileptic "lunatic" by "rebuking the devil." (Epilepsy is caused by devils.)
17:16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. "O faithless and perverse generation"
Jesus speaks harshly of his disciples when they fail to cast out the devil, saying "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?"

ஆனா இதனைத்தானே இன்னமும் சுவிசேசம் பண்ணுபவர்கள் முடமானவர்கள் குருடானவர்கள் எல்லாம் சாத்தானால்தான் அப்படி ஆகிறார்கள் என்று பேயோட்டுகிறார்கள்?
பேயோட்டியதும், குருடு சரியாக போய்விடுமாம். பேயோட்டியதும் கால் நடக்க ஆரம்பித்துவிடுமாம். இதுவெல்லாம் சாத்தானின் வேலைதானாம் ..
அப்புறம் ஏன் ஆஸ்பத்திரி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்? பேயோட்ட வேண்டியதுதானே?

In the ancient middle east, people thought that the diseases (even such a disease as Leprosy) is caused by devils and evil sprits.
That is why you find in bible, disease is cured by driving the evil sprit out!
