மஹாராஷ்டிரா அவுரங்காபாதில் அப்துல் முதலீப், அமின் என்ற இரண்டு பங்களாதேஷிகள் 400000 ரூபாய் போலி இந்திய ரூபாய்களுடன் கைது செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

இவர்கள் இதுவரை 14 முறை இந்தியாவுக்கு வந்து சென்றிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரிகிறது.

Four Bangladeshis held with fake currency in Aurangabad

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), May 20 : Four Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, were arrested here with fake currency worth 400,000 rupees, police said on Sunday.

Two Bangladeshi men - Abdul Mutalib and Amin - were arrested in Aurangabad during an intensified search operation.

The duo had arrived here from nearby Nanded District two days ago.

"During our checking we found one of the two people in room No. 129 of Punjab Hotel near the railway station. We recovered 400,000 rupees worth of fake currency notes and 18,900 rupees in Indian currency," said police inspector MV Dabbewad.

Based on their interrogation, police later arrested two Bangladeshi women, Rehana and Sheikh Shahanoor, from Nanded.

Dabbewad said the arrested Bangladeshis apparently are part of a Hawala (money laundering) racket.

"One of them has visited India 14 times since 2001, while another had visited the country for the first time. They were here on a tour," he said.

An arrested Bangladeshi said he would receive 10,000 rupees for each delivery of consignment.

"I was supposed to give the notes to one Ansari, I could not find him," said Abdul Mutalib.

An Anti-Terrorist Squad team led by chief Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has rushed to Aurangabad to interrogate the arrested Bangladeshis.

Police across the country has been put on alert in the wake of Friday's blast at Mecca mosque in Hyderabad, which killed 11, while five others died in police firing following a protest.
