உகாண்டா கிறிஸ்துவ பயங்கரவாதிகளுக்கு எதிராக போருக்கு சரியான சன்மானம் இல்லை

உகாண்டாவில் Lords Resistence Army (LRA) என்ற கிறிஸ்துவ பயங்கரவாத அமைப்பு வெகுகாலமாக குழந்தைகளை கடத்திச்சென்று அவர்களை கொலைகள் செய்யவைத்து கற்பழித்து உகாண்டா அரசுக்கு எதிராக பயன்படுத்தி போரிட்டுவருகிறது.

இந்த அமைப்பு உகாண்டாவில் பைபிளின் பத்து கட்டளைகளை சட்டமாக ஆக்க உழைக்கிறது.

இந்த கிறிஸ்துவ பயங்கரவாத அமைப்புக்கு எதிராக உகாண்டா படைகள் போரிட்டு வருகின்றன. அந்தபடைகளுக்கு சரியாக சம்பளம் வழங்கப்படுவதில்லை என்று குறை கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

The Ministry of Defense and Internal Affairs has accused some politicians of interfering in the payment of auxiliary forces in the North and Eastern Uganda.

The auxiliary forces were recruited in 2003 when the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels, led by Joseph Kony, intensified their attacks in the sub-regions.

The ministry’s permanent secretary, Rosette Byengoma told MPs on the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee today that the whole matter has politicized by some politicians who push for the payment of money to people who were not part of the auxiliary forces.

Byengoma was responding to concerns raised by MPs on the persistent complaints from some MPs on the delayed payment of some of the auxiliary forces.

She says that out of the 37000 forces that were involved in the battling of the LRA rebels, only 3000 are left to be paid. She adds that the payment exercise is currently going on in Soroti district and will be completed soon.

Byengoma says that the ministry, which has spent about 4.4 billion shillings to pay the vigilantes, is taking caution and has held 3 separate verification exercises to ensure that payment is only made to those who were involved in the war.

Committee members also questioned the ministry over reports that the vigilantes were being paid cash instead of processing it through the banks.

Byengoma says that cash payments were only made to those who were not being retained in the service and those who were retained or integrated in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces are paid through bank accounts.

She assured the committee that all the auxiliary forces will be paid.
