A Muslim extremist who called for British soldiers to be brought home in body bags was found guilty of inciting murder yesterday.

Mizanur Rahman, 24, demanded that the streets of Iraq and Afghanistan should “run with blood”, and urged 9/11 style attacks on Europe.

He was one of several demonstrators who carried placards calling for non-Muslims to be “annihilated” and “beheaded” at a 300-strong protest in central London.

His tirade came after “anti-Muslim” cartoons, showing the prophet Mohammed, were published first in Denmark, then France, Spain and Germany.

Other protesters brandished placards that read: “Europe, you will pay, fantastic four are on their way” – a reference to the four July 7 suicide bombers in London.

Yet more banners targeted all non-Muslims – or infidels – with slogans like “Kill the Kuffir”.

He wanted streets to run with blood

Yesterday’s verdict came after a retrial. The first jury appointed could not reach a verdict against Rahman, a web designer of Bangladeshi origins, living in Palmers Green, north London.

He had denied one count of soliciting or inciting the murder of those who do not believe in or insult Islam, American and British servicemen, and Danish, Spanish and French nationals.

But yesterday a second Old Bailey jury was unanimous.

The married father of one had already been convicted during his first trial of the lesser charge of stirring racial hatred. But after the jury deliberated for two days, he was also found guilty of inciting murder.

Rahman is one of four British Muslims to be convicted after the Danish Embassy protest last year.

First came Umran Javed, 27, a father of one and unemployed web designer, who lived in Birmingham. He was found guilty of inciting murder of non-Muslims, including Americans – even though the cartoons were not published in the
US – and of stirring racial hatred.

Next came Abdul Rahman Saleem, 31, a BT engineer of Pakistani descent, born and living in Poplar in the East End.

He was found guilty of stirring racial hatred after calling for 7/7 style suicide attacks on Europeans who would pay with their “blood.” Then came the ringleader, Abdul Muhid, 24, a Halal meat inspector and father of two children living in Whitechapel, east London.

He was convicted of soliciting murder after handing out placards calling for the beheading of those that insult Islam and threatening Europe with train bombings like the attacks on Madrid in 2004.

All four men are due to be sentenced on July 18.
