ஒரு காலத்தில் மலர்கள் பூத்து குலுங்கும் நகரமாக இருந்ததால் புஷ்பபுரம் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்ட நகரம் தற்போது பெஷாவர் என்று வழங்கும் பாகிஸ்தானிய நகரம். அப்போது அது இந்துக்களின் நகரமாக இருந்தது. அங்கிருந்து இந்துக்கள் துரத்தப்பட்டு வந்தேறி அரபுகளும், பெர்ஷியர்களும் குடியேறி அது இஸ்லாமிய் நகரமாக ஆன பின்னால் பெஷாவர் என்று மாறி, தற்போது தினந்தோறும் வன்முறையும், வெடிகுண்டும், தற்கொலை தாக்குதலும் நடக்கும் நகரமாக ஆகியிருக்கிறது.
தற்போது பெஷாவரில் ஷியா பிரிவினர் வணங்கும் மசூதியில் குண்டு வெடித்து நான்கு ஷியா பிரிவினர் கொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கின்றனர்.
மீண்டும் பெஷாவர் புஷ்பபுரமாகி இந்துக்களாக இவர்கள் மாறி இங்கு அமைதி திரும்ப வேண்டும் என்று எல்லாம் வல்ல இறையை இறைஞ்சுவோம்.
Explosion at Pakistan Shia mosque
An explosion at a Shia mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar has left at least four people dead, officials say.
The cause of the explosion, which came as Shias prepared to mark the Ashura festival, was not immediately clear but witnesses reported a suicide bomber.
Up to 20 people were wounded in the blast at the capital of the north-western frontier province.
Security has been high in Pakistan during the holy month of Muharram, of which Ashura marks the climax.
Pakistan has a history of violence between Sunni and Shia extremists.
Last week a suicide bomber killed more than 20 people at a police checkpoint in the eastern city of Lahore but it is not clear if that attack was sectarian.
