Imphal, December 06: Atleast 10 persons including two personnel of the 7th Manipur Rifles sustained injuries when a bomb hurled by unidentified persons exploded at Khurai Lamlong under Porompat Police Station at around 5 pm today.

According to police report, the unidentified persons hurled the bomb targeting a team of MR personnel who were on frisking duty at that relevant time.

The attackers have not yet been identified.

All the injured have been evacuated to JN Hospital at Porompat and RIMS Hospital at Lamphelpat for treatment.

Those who have been admitted to JN Hospital are Rifleman Md Ajit Ali (35) of Kshetrigao Makha Leikai , N Boicha (12) of Khurai Thoudam Leikai, M Khamba (35) of Khurai Kongpal, M Anand (14) of Khurai Thoudam Leikai, L Ibempishak of Khurai Lamlong, Y Mani (32) of Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai and Thoidingjam Ishwar-chandra (30) of Uyumpok.

While those who are undergoing treatment at RIMS are Thangjam Mocha (47) of Khurai Puthiba and Athokpam Dinesh (40) of Khurai Sajor Leikai.

The condition of some of the victims are stated to be serious.

Bazar combed : Imphal West District Police today launched search operation in Paona Bazar area today and pulled up many suspected persons for verification.

However, there is no report of any arrest made in this regard.
