கம்பம்:முல்லைப்பெரியாறு அணை பிரச்னையில், கேரள அரசை கண்டித்து தேனி மாவட்டம் கம்பத்தில் நடந்த ஊர்வலத்தில் அனைத்து சமுதாயத்தைச்சேர்ந்த 40 ஆயிரம் பேர் பங்கேற்றனர். தமிழகத்தில் டிச., 5 முதல் நடந்த போராட்டம் தற்போது அனைத்து ஊர்களிலும் அறவழி போராட்டங்கள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. கம்பத்தில் நேற்று காலை, அனைத்து சமுதாய மக்கள் பங்கேற்ற ஊர்வலம் நடந்தது. நந்தகோபாலன் கோயிலில் இருந்து ஊர்வலம் துவங்கியது. அங்கிருந்து கம்பமெட்டு ரோடு, புதுப்பள்ளிவாசல், தங்கவிநாயகர் கோயில் , மெயின்ரோடு, பத்திரப்பதிவு அலுவலகம், அரசு ஆஸ்பத்திரி, நகராட்சி அலுலகம் வழியாக சென்று, பார்க் திடலில் முடிவடைந்தது. நகரில் 2 கி.மீ., நீளத்திற்கு நடந்த இந்த ஊர்வலத்தில், அனைத்து சமுதாயங்களையும் சேர்ந்த 40 ஆயிரம் பேர் பங்கேற்றனர். உம்மன் சாண்டி, அச்சுதானந்தன் உருவ பொம்மைகள் அரசு ஆஸ்பத்திரி எதிரில் எரித்தனர். பெண்கள் துடைப்பத்தால் அடித்தனர். இதில் பெண்கள் அதிக எண்ணிக்கையில் வந்திருந்தனர். அணையின் நீர் மட்டத்தை உடனடியாக 142 அடியாக உயர்த்தவும், மத்திய தொழில் பாதுகாப்பு படையை அணையில் நிறுத்தவும், புது அணை கட்டுவதை கைவிடவும் வலியுறுத்தி கோஷங்கள் எழுப்பப்பட்டது. பிரச்னை முடியும் வரை, தமிழகத்தில் இருந்து கேரளாவிற்கு செல்லும் 13 வழித்தடங்களையும், மூட தமிழக அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவும் வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டது.

The Hare Krishna temple in Western Copenhagen was recently assaulted by a group of young Muslims, throwing stones and breaking windows. To diminish the risk of confrontations with the Muslim-dominated neighbourhood, the devotees of the temple are from now on requested to not wear their characteristic clothes outside the temple, in order to not provoke similar attacks in the future. Below is the original account of the attacks.

Dear devotees,
On 6.12.,20.45 the temple in Copenhagen was attacked by a group of gundas with obviously Muslim background. First stones were thrown against the front of the residential temple building, then the window in the mathaji asrama got broken.[TK], the temple president, called police instantly. A single police officer arived, took notice of the dammage and left again. Half an hour later a bigger group of the same attackers arived, again throwing stones, entering the garden, braking this time windows in the Tulasi room, all the bottom windows facing the street. Finaly they tried to brake into the house, seeking direct physical conflict.
It didnt took long to find out the possible background of this attack.
(The temple was never exposed to such an incident before).
The same day two devotees, one of them living directly in the temple and the other outside, were biking closeby when they met on the street a car standing with open door. One passed, the other got blocked by the open door and complained. According to the statement of one of them he was directly attacked by the driver with a tool fetched from the car and as the other one came to his rescue, a fist fight started. Devotees sustained minor injuries. Finaly police arived at the scene and took record of the incident.
As the temple is located in a close Muslim neighbourhood, featuring a Muslim school, etc., it is quite possible that these two incidents are related. The police didnt make sofar this connection,but its obvious.
As matter of fact the involvement of the police was minimal sofar, it took them more a half an hour to arive and after the second attack they didnt come at all. If the attackers would manage to brake into the house, somebody could have been kiled as they were armed with baseball clubs and other weapons. As seeing from the window, most of them could have been even less as 18 years old and some of them couldnt even speak proper denish.
It can be only hoped that this incident was an act of momentarily rage and will not spark a long term enmity and chain of attacks from the local Muslim community. To find the leader of the gang and try to communicate with him is hardly possible. We cannot expect any protection from the police and so once again we are fully depending on the mercy of Sri Sri Goura Nitai and Lord Nrsimhadeva.

P.S. Please, if possible, lets help [TKP] as he will have to deal now with further police investigation, the insurance company and the repairs following this attack.
Further on devotees are requested to change possibly their devotee dress after leaving the temple property, as being seen in the vaisnava dress they may provoke in an uncontroled manner attacks from the local Muslims while walkig on the street. Incidents of this nature do happen. Even this one is based on individual improper behaviour of both parties, the driver and the devotees, the final attack was issued against anybody who could be identified as the memmber of the Hare Krsna movement. Lets hope these attacks will not escalate. Sofar nobody got injured, but it was a close call indeed.

Teenager testifies of abuse by pastor

A teenage girl testified in Saline County District Court Wednesday that she could no longer keep secret about being sexually abused by a Salina pastor, although she said he threatened to have her killed.
The girl spoke quietly, sometimes shaking visibly, as she answered questions from attorneys about how Birger Draget, 54, allegedly had abused her on multiple occasions since 2006.
"I was trying to have a relationship with God, and I felt cut off from God at the same time because of the abuse," she said.
The girl said the incidents had taken an emotional toll on her, and she told Draget this summer that she couldn't pretend to be a happy person anymore. She said she had kept the secret from family members and close friends for years before finally speaking to a school official and then a police officer this summer.
"I couldn't keep it (secret) anymore," she said. "I couldn't handle it. I felt like I was going to explode."
Draget had acted as pastor of Seventh Day Adventist churches in Salina, Junction City, Manhattan and Enterprise until he was placed on administrative leave after his Oct. 6 arrest.
During his preliminary hearing Wednesday, he listened to the girl's testimony from the defense table, sometimes shaking his head, occasionally crying or bowing his head.
Charges to be amended
Following about an hour and a half of testimony, prosecutor Christina Trocheck, an assistant county attorney, said she needed to amend the 21 charges against Draget to make them consistent with the girl's testimony.
She said she intends to add two counts of criminal threat and make additional adjustments and would present the revised charges at Draget's arraignment, set for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 9.
Because the charges are to be amended, Judge Jerome Hellmer made no ruling on whether Draget should be bound over for trial, although he described the girl's testimony as compelling.
Judge lowers man's bond
Hellmer granted a motion to reduce Draget's bond, which had been set at $500,000. Hellmer said although the charges against Draget are serious and several carry life sentences, the case has yet to be proved and Draget is presumed innocent.
He set the bond at $200,000, with the requirements that Draget forfeit his passport, have no contact with minors except his son and be subject to electronic monitoring.
Wichita attorney Roger Falk, who represents Draget, told the judge he was aware that Draget would likely be bound over on some charges, although he did not believe the testimony was sufficient to support all 21 counts of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child initially brought against Draget.
Falk argued for bond reduction, saying he had collected a number of letters from church members, family and friends that "attest to the virtues of this gentleman."
"In short, your honor, this is a 50-something-year-old man who has never been charged with anything as serious as spitting on the sidewalk before in his life," Falk said.
No motive to fabricate
Trocheck countered that the girl's testimony illustrated a "pattern of conduct" that would be a threat to the community. She encouraged Hellmer to leave the bond at $500,000.
"The state submits her testimony is absolutely compelling," she said. She said the girl has no motive to fabricate a story and must be telling the truth.
The girl said Draget usually did not say anything before he started touching her, but on two occasions he had told her "don't be stupid and don't say anything because he'd find someone to kill me."
"How did that make you feel when he said that?" Trocheck asked.
"Like there was no way out," she said.
She suffered a head injury
Falk questioned the girl about a head injury she sustained about a year ago when she fell off a horse. The girl said she suffered a concussion and had had fainting spells, panic attacks and trouble with blurred vision and hyperventilating.
She said she had more difficulty handling "the stress of living in fear and feeling cut off from God" after the injury.

மொறட்டுவ ராவத்தாவத்த பகுதியில் இயங்கிவரும் சிறுவர் இல்லமொன்றை தேசிய சிறுவர் பாதுகாப்பு அதிகார சபை நேற்று புதன்கிழமை(23.11.2011) மாலை சுற்றிவளைத்து அங்கிருந்த 70 சிறுவர், சிறுமியரை மீட்டுள்ளது.
அதிகாரச் சபையின் முறைப்பாடுகளை பதிவு செய்யும் 1929 என்ற தொலைபேசி இலக்கத்திற்கு நேற்று கிடைத்த தகவல் ஒன்றை அடுத்து, மேற்படி சிறுவர் இல்லம் சுற்றிவளைக்கப்பட்டது. இதன் போது சிறுவர் இல்லத்தில் பிறந்து சில நாட்களே ஆன குழந்தைகளும் குழந்தைகள் உள்ள 15 தாய்மாரும் 6 கர்ப்பிணிகளும் இருந்ததாக அதிகார சபை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
மேலும், சிறுவர்களை கொள்வனவு செய்ய சென்றிருந்த அமெரிக்க மற்றும் ஜெர்மனி ஆகிய நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த இரண்டு தம்பதியினரும் குழந்தை விற்பனை செய்யும் தரகர் ஒருவரும் இலங்கையை சேர்ந்த இரண்டு பெண்களும் இவ்விடுதியில் இருந்துள்ளனர்.
குழந்தைகளை கொள்வனவு செய்ய இந்த வெளிநாட்டு தம்பதியினர், 7 லட்சத்திற்கும் அதிகமான பணத்தை சிறுவர் இல்லத்திற்கு வழங்கியுள்ளதுடன் இலங்கை பெண் ஒருவர் 35 ஆயிரம் ரூபாவை குழந்தையை கொள்வனவு செய்ய வழங்கியுள்ளார். இடைத் தரகர்களே இவர்களை சிறுவர் இல்லத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றுள்ளனர்.
மொறட்டுவ ராவத்தாவத்தை பகுதியில் இயங்கி வரும் இந்த சிறுவர் இல்லம் கடந்த 1984 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு நிறுவனமாக இயங்கி வருகிறது. கன்னியாஸ்திரி ஒருவர் இந்த சிறுவர் இல்லத்தின் நிர்வாகியாக செயற்பட்டு வருவதாக சிறுவர் பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரச் சபை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
அனாதை குழந்தைகளை பராமரித்து அவர்களை வெளிநாட்டினருக்கு விற்பனை செய்யும் நடவடிக்கைகள் பல காலமாக நடந்து வந்துள்ளமை விசாரணைகள் மூலம் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. இந்த வர்த்தகத்துடன் தொடர்புடையவர்கள் தொடர்பாக விசாரணை நடத்தி அவர்களை கைதுசெய்ய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு வருவதாக சிறுவர் பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரச் சபை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
இதேவேளை சிறுவர் இல்லத்தில் இருந்த வெளிநாட்டவர்கள் மற்றும் உள்நாட்டை சேர்ந்தவர்களிடம் வாக்குமூலம் பெறப்பட்டு அவர்கள் இன்று நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஆஜர்ப்படுத்தப்பட உள்ளனர்.

சென்னை : மத்திய அரசின் இலவச கட்டாய கல்வி சட்டம் தொடர்பாக தமிழக அரசு கொண்டுவந்துள்ள விதிமுறைகளை எதிர்த்து சிறுபான்மை பள்ளிகள் தொடர்ந்த வழக்கில் மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகளுக்கு சென்னை ஐகோர்ட் நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்பியுள்ளது. மயிலாப்பூர் ரோமன் கத்தோலிக்க திருச்சபை சார்பாக பாதிரியார் செபாஸ்டியன் சென்னை ஐகோர்ட்டில் தாக்கல் செய்துள்ள வழக்கில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது: தமிழகம் முழுவதும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பள்ளிகளை நடத்தி வருகிறோம். ஏழை குழந்தைகளுக்கு குறைந்த கட்டணத்தில் கல்வி கற்பித்து வருகிறோம். மத்திய அரசின் இலவச கட்டாய கல்வி சட்டம் தமிழ்நாட்டில் அமல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்கான விதிமுறைகளை தமிழக அரசு வகுத்துள்ளது. இதனால் எங்களது பள்ளிகளுக்கு பெரிய அளவில் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படும். 150 மாணவர்கள் இருந்தால் தான் தலைமை ஆசிரியர் இருக்க வேண்டும் என விதிமுறை வகுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. விதிமுறைகளின்படி 8ம் வகுப்பு வரை 25 சதவீதம் இடங்களை ஏழை மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒதுக்க வேண்டும். அதற்கான கட்டணத்தை அரசு செலுத்தும் என கூறுகிறார்கள். இது நடைமுறை சாத்தியமல்ல.
மிச்சமுள்ள 75 சதவீத மாணவர்களிடமும் அரசு நிர்ணயித்த கட்டணத்தையே வசூலிக்க வேண்டும் எனவும் விதிமுறை வகுக்கப்பட்டுள்து. ஒவ்வொரு பள்ளியிலும் ஒரு கமிட்டி அமைக்க வேண்டும். அந்தக் கமிட்டியில் பள்ளி சார்பாக ஒருவர் மட்டுமே இடம் பெற வேண்டும். மற்ற இடங்களில் பெற்றோர்கள், அந்தப்பகுதி கவுன்சிலர்கள் இடம் பெற வேண்டும் என கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்படி ஒரு கமிட்டி அமைத்தால் பள்ளியின் நிர்வாகம் அந்த கமிட்டி வசம் சென்றுவிடும். பள்ளி நடத்துபவர்களுக்கு எந்த உரிமையும் இருக்காது. மாணவர் சேர்க்கை, ஆசிரியர் நியமனம் என அனைத்தும் அந்த கமிட்டிவசம் சென்றுவிட்டால், சிறுபான்மை பள்ளிகளுக்கு எந்த அதிகாரமும் மிஞ்சாது. மத்திய அரசின் சட்டத்தை எதிர்த்து உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்துள்ளோம். அது நிலுவையில் உள்ளது. எனவே இந்த சட்டம் தொடர்பாக தமிழக அரசு கொண்டுவந்துள்ள விதிமுறைகளுக்கு தடை விதிக்க வேண்டும். அதை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு மனுவில் கூறியிருந்தார். இந்த வழக்கை நீதிபதி பால்வசந்தகுமார் விசாரித்து, மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் 2 வாரத்தில் பதில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்ய நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்ப உத்தரவிட்டார். மனுதாரர் சார்பாக வக்கீல் சேவியர் அருள்ராஜ், தமிழக அரசு சார்பாக கூடுதல் அரசு வக்கீல் சஞ்சய் காந்தி ஆஜரானார்கள்.
மிச்சமுள்ள 75 சதவீத மாணவர்களிடமும் அரசு நிர்ணயித்த கட்டணத்தையே வசூலிக்க வேண்டும் எனவும் விதிமுறை வகுக்கப்பட்டுள்து. ஒவ்வொரு பள்ளியிலும் ஒரு கமிட்டி அமைக்க வேண்டும். அந்தக் கமிட்டியில் பள்ளி சார்பாக ஒருவர் மட்டுமே இடம் பெற வேண்டும். மற்ற இடங்களில் பெற்றோர்கள், அந்தப்பகுதி கவுன்சிலர்கள் இடம் பெற வேண்டும் என கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்படி ஒரு கமிட்டி அமைத்தால் பள்ளியின் நிர்வாகம் அந்த கமிட்டி வசம் சென்றுவிடும். பள்ளி நடத்துபவர்களுக்கு எந்த உரிமையும் இருக்காது. மாணவர் சேர்க்கை, ஆசிரியர் நியமனம் என அனைத்தும் அந்த கமிட்டிவசம் சென்றுவிட்டால், சிறுபான்மை பள்ளிகளுக்கு எந்த அதிகாரமும் மிஞ்சாது. மத்திய அரசின் சட்டத்தை எதிர்த்து உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்துள்ளோம். அது நிலுவையில் உள்ளது. எனவே இந்த சட்டம் தொடர்பாக தமிழக அரசு கொண்டுவந்துள்ள விதிமுறைகளுக்கு தடை விதிக்க வேண்டும். அதை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு மனுவில் கூறியிருந்தார். இந்த வழக்கை நீதிபதி பால்வசந்தகுமார் விசாரித்து, மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் 2 வாரத்தில் பதில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்ய நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்ப உத்தரவிட்டார். மனுதாரர் சார்பாக வக்கீல் சேவியர் அருள்ராஜ், தமிழக அரசு சார்பாக கூடுதல் அரசு வக்கீல் சஞ்சய் காந்தி ஆஜரானார்கள்.

முதலில் சோனியாவை சந்தித்து பேசிய அவர், கேரள மக்களின் பாதுகாப்பு கருதி முல்லைப் பெரியாறு அணை அருகே புதிய அணை கட்டியே ஆக வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தி உள்ளார். மேலும் கேரளா, தமிழகத்திற்கு தண்ணீர் தர மறுக்கவில்லை. அதே சமயம் 116 ஆண்டு பழமைவாய்ந்த முல்லைப் பெரியாறு அணை இருக்கும் இடுக்கி மாவட்டத்தில் அடிக்கடி நில அதிர்வுகள் ஏற்படுவதால் புதிய அணை கட்டுவதுதான் நல்லது என்று அவர் சோனியாவிடம் வலியுறுத்தினார்.
பின்னர் அவர் பிரதமர் மன்மோகன்சிங்கையும் சந்தித்து முல்லைப் பெரியாறு விவகாரம் குறித்து பேசினார். அப்போது நாடாளுமன்ற விவகாரத் துறை அமைச்சர் பவன்குமார் பன்சால் உடனிருந்தார். முல்லைப் பெரியாறு விவகாரத்தில் தலையிட்டு தீர்வு காண வேண்டும் என்று உம்மன் சாண்டி பிரதமரிடம் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளார். இருப்பினும் பிரதமர், கேரள முதல்வருக்கு எந்தவிதமான உத்தரவாதமும் அளிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக அவர் கொடுத்த மனுவை பெற்றுக் கொண்டாராம்.
